557a. Posterior to tooth row on tergite VII there is a narrow band of points a little more robust than on the tergite, thereafter the conjunctive is densely armed with minute points (029e.jpg). Lateral antepronotal seta absent or minute, difficult to distinguish. Points of tergites larger, e.g. on tergite III 8µm long. Male genital sheaths (029f.jpg). Note Di33a.

Diamesa laticauda

557b. Posterior to tooth row on tergite VII there is a very narrow band of points of similar size to those on the tergite and further similar points spread inwards from the paratergite for a short distance, conjunctive otherwise unarmed (032d.jpg; Note Di33). Lateral antepronotal seta as large as the lower median antepronotal seta. Points of tergites smaller, e.g. on tergite III 4µm long. Note Di33b.
