Tanytarsus cretensis

Diagnosis (Material in coll. ZSM)
Exuviae 3.1-4.0mm long (n=3).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles shallow cones. Frontal setae 90, 125µm long (n=2). Thoracic horn densely spinulate for the apical two-thirds. Thoracic horn 525-600µm long, with minute setulae; ThR 16.2-22 (n=3) (142k.jpg). Posterior thoracic mound weak, rounded. Wing sheaths rounded apically, pearl row absent.
Abdomen: Length hook row II 0.38, 0.40x width tergite (n=2); hooks 85 (n=1). Armament of tergites III-VI on slightly yellowed patches. Point patches of tergite III of points only, patches longitudinally broad oval, less than one quarter the length of the segment, tergite unarmed behind the point patches. Tergites IV and V with the armament arranged in longitudinal bands. Armament tergite IV strong, 58, 68µm long (n=2). ArR III-VI 0.87, 0.93 : 1.0 : 0.87, 1.0 : 0.52, 0.65 (n=2). Postero-lateral comb of segment VIII normal, 11, 23µm wide, truncate posteriorly, with a marginal row of 4, 6 elongate teeth (n=2). Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 3,3,4,4.
Anal segment: Fringe of anal lobe with 24-31 taeniae (n=3), forming a complete series.
