Diagnosis (Strenzke-reared specimens in coll. ZSM)
Exuviae 6.4-6.6mm long (n=3).
Colour: Exuviae golden-brown to dark brown. Contrast in colour between thorax and abdomen not strongly marked: specimens dark anteriorly also have the abdomen infuscated; outer margin of the anal lobes coloured except at base.
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles LxB 70x67-80x67µm (n=3). Frontal setae 40-53µm long (n=3). Thoracic horn much branched; basal ring of horn 155x53-133x55µm. Tracheal patch of horn without an "eye"; patch 87x25-95x25µm; 9 tracheoles across (n=3). Thoracic granulation usually extensive.
Abdomen: Hook row II entire, length of row 0.53x width tergite (n=1); hooks 68, 80 (n=2). Armament of tergites II-VI in the form of an undivided, not strongly waisted, usually extensive patch of strong points, the points in each segment increasing in size posteriorly. The point patches increase in extent from tergite II to V, but on VI the patch is more or less reduced. The posterior transverse band not successively increasing in extent to tergite VI; usually reduced on VI. Paratergite V with a band of spinules arranged in steeply diagonal rows ending in the apico-lateral spinule patch; similar or reduced on segment VI; absent on VII. Sternite I unarmed. Sternite III with shagreen forming a lateral longitudinal band on each side, which may be joined across the sternite anteriorly. Parasternite II not obviously shagreened. Pleura of segment IV spinulate, spinules 10µm long. Conjunctives IV/V and V/VI roughened. Comb of segment VIII on the end of an elongate ventral cuticular mound with 2 stout long-apiculate teeth. Segment VIII with 5 lateral taeniae.
Anal segment: Anal lobes straight laterally, nearly parallel-sided; each lobe with 66-84 fringe taeniae (n=3).
