Diagnosis
Exuviae 6.6-7.7mm long (n=6; Loch Tay, Scotland); 7.0, 7.8mm long (n=2; R. Isar, Oberbayern). (034-1.jpg)
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn (missing in material from Oberbayern) 830-915µm long (n=6); ThR 2.5-3.4 (n=6); horn very large, unbranched, swollen strongly near base and tapered to the blunt tip (but easily broken off) (034b.jpg).
Abdomen: Segment II with well-developed pedes spurii B covered with spines (034c.jpg). At least segment VIII without a lateral hair fringe.
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.4-1.6 (n=6; Loch Tay, Scotland); 1.5, 1.6 (n=2; R. Isar, Oberbayern). Anal lobes densely fringed, without macrosetae, but with two dorsal setae, the anterior seta in the anterior quarter of the lobe well-removed from the base of the fringe, the posterior one close to the fringe near the apex of the lobe (034d.jpg).
