Micropsectra atrofasciata

Author: (Kieffer, 1911)

Diagnosis
Exuviae 3.1-5.5mm long (m=4.7mm, n=47).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles short conical; frontal setae 86-100µm long (n=4) (147n.jpg). Antennal sheath base with a small rounded-conical swelling. Thoracic horn 197-600µm long (m=399µm, n=41); ThR 7.9-16.0 (m=10.3, n=22). Thoracic horn seta 90-170µm long (m=133µm, n=24), 0.24-0.46 of horn length (m=0.35, n=24) (147l.jpg). Posterior thoracic mound strongly swollen with a short rounded tubercle posteriorly. Pearl row absent.
Abdomen: Length hook row II 0.41-0.48x width tergite; hooks 110-149 (n=6). Tergite II without anterior point patches; armament with the lateral point bands completely fused anteriorly, leaving a longitudinally oval bare patch postero-medially. Tergite III with spines longer than 25µm. Tergites IV and V with a pair of transverse, slightly oblique point patches. Lateral longitudinal bands of tergites IV of spines (over 25µm long), of V of spinules with occasional spines (147m.jpg). Tergites VII and VIII with very restricted armament or smooth. Pedes spurii B II well-developed. Comb of segment VIII 14-54µm wide (m=36.6µm, n=45); with 1-8 marginal teeth (m=5.1, n=63). Lateral taeniae of segments IV-VIII: 2(0,1,3),3,4,4,5.
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.1-1.2 (n=4). Fringe of anal lobe complete, with 13-50 taeniae (m=33.4, n=97).
