Kiefferulus tendipediformis

Diagnosis
Exuviae 7.6-9.0mm long (m=8.2mm, n=14) (097-1.jpg).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles rounded humps with narrow, conical apices; frontal setae present (097b.jpg). Thoracic horn much branched.
Abdomen: Hook row II 0.39-0.41x width tergite (097c.jpg). Conjunctives III/IV, IV/V and V/VI covered with dense spinules extending to the width of the tergite armament. Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 4,4,4,5. Comb of segment VIII of 4-6 equally spaced, strong, dark, narrow, curved teeth, situated on the lateral margin at the apical corner of the segment, which is itself very dark, and 0-2 smaller teeth internal to the apical tooth (097d.jpg).
Anal segment: Fringe of anal lobe with 112-146 taeniae (m=133, n=15), to three deep posteriorly (097d.jpg).

Distribution
Widespread in Europe, circum-Mediterranean.

Ecological notes
A sourthern species of fens and brackish water.
