Diagnosis (See Cryptochironomus rostratus Kieffer in the sense of Shilova, 1966a.)
Exuviae more than 6.0mm long.
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles long and narrow, over 300µm long.
Abdomen: Hook row II medially interrupted, the gap about equal the length of a single half row. Tergites II-V with a complete posterior transverse row or narrow band of strong points. Tergites I-VIII/IX are covered with reticulation; at least tergites I-V with obvious continuous reticulation; reticulation of tergites and sternites thin walled. Posterior points of sternite II form a transverse row or band. Comb of segment VIII absent.
