Zavrelimyia signatipennis

Author: (Kieffer, 1924)

Diagnosis
Exuviae 4.9-6.0mm long (m=5.4mm, n=11).
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn 316-383µm long (m=354µm, n=13); ThR 3.6-6.1 (m=4.0, n=13). Plastron plate with a clear rim. Plastron plate 38-60x30-41µm (n=6). Plastron plate length 0.10-0.18 of horn length (m=0.13, n=12), 3.6-4.6x width neck (n=3), 0.52-0.77x maximum width rim (n=4). Atrium of thoracic horn not reduced, breadth 0.59-0.77 of horn breadth. Thoracic horn elongate, curved shortly after the base, more or less parallel-sided or widened towards apex, toothed. Plastron plate offset at horn apex, with or without a rim. Respiratory atrium thin-walled, half to three-quarters the lumen width, at most a little undulate marginally.
Abdomen: Anterior lateral taenia of segment VII at 0.40-0.51 of length segment VII (n=12). Anterior lateral taenia of segment VIII at 0.20-0.32 of length segment VIII (n=12). Abdominal segments evenly brown. Tergite and sternite VIII with extensive shagreen, covering much, or all, the tergite. Pleura of tergites III-V with spinulation extending over most of the segment length.
Anal segment: Anal lobes toothed strongly both externally beyond the lateral taeniae and internally, both margins convexly narrowed to apex. Anal lobe ratio 2.9-3.5 (n=11). Insertion of anterior anal taenia at 0.33-0.4 of lobe length (n=11).
