Psectrocladius oxyura

Author: Langton, 1985

Diagnosis
Exuviae 3.7-6.6mm long (m=5.0mm, n=22).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles not so conspicuous; frontal setae present. Thoracic horn 315-470µm long (m=365µm, n=23), small-toothed, not swollen apically; ThR 4.8-6.5 (m=5.7, n=13). Second dorsocentral seta fine, the rest sturdy.
Abdomen: Tergites III-VIII with restricted shagreen, at least on VII and VIII. Median point patches present on tergites IV-VI (rarely an indication of one of the patches on III); patches double, at least on tergites IV and V, if joined, only by a few scattered points. Points of point patches large, the longest greater than 35µm long, usually obviously exceeding the length of the longest tooth of the posterior transverse rows. Three or four lateral setae on segments II-V, not taeniate; posterior seta of segment V small and fine; four lateral taeniae or setae present on segment VI, if (rarely) all are reduced to setae, the most posterior is the most conspicuous (049l.jpg). At least one lateral seta on segment VII, and all those on segment VIII taeniate.
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.6-2.2 (m=2.0, n=36). Anal lobes rounded apically, without teeth. Fringe of anal lobe with 24-45 taeniae (m=36, n=38); the three anal macrosetae situated apically on the lobes.
