37a. Anterior lateral taenia of segment VII at about 1/3rd segment length, lateral taeniae 2 and 3 close together at about 0.7 segment length and 4 and 5 close together at apical corner (009k.jpg). Mark on segment I of 2 parallel dark lines joined anteriorly and diverging posteriorly (009j.jpg).

Macropelopia notata

37b. Anterior lateral taenia of segment VII at about half segment length, the remaining taeniae spaced evenly in the posterior 1/3rd of the segment (fig. a). Mark of segment I usually isodiametric, rounded anteriorly, emarginate posteriorly, but occasionally much as in notata.
