13a. Anal lobes with a peg-like apical spur, which bears 1-2 small setae at the tip (but these may be broken off) (003f.jpg). Posterior margins of segments III-VIII tucked in to form a stiff ridge, at the lateral extremity of which the segment projects as a strong tooth. Segment VIII not extended posteriorly on each side of segment IX. Plastron plate massive, over half the length of the horn.

13b. Anal lobes extend posteriorly as irregularly tapering lobes, bearing 5 setae and toothed externally over the apical half (003c.jpg ). Posterior margins of abdominal segments neither ridged nor toothed laterally. Segment VIII extends posteriorly on each side of the anal lobes for twice its median length (003-1.jpg; fig. a,c). Plastron plate small, its diameter less than the width of the horn apex.
