876a. Sternites II and III extensively and strongly shagreened. Tergites more extensively armed (079g.jpg; Note Or287a), anteriorly extending beyond the anterior adhesion marks in the middle (e.g. on VI leaving only a small antero-median bare space), the points small, about 7µm long, and dense (fig. a). Orthocladius pedestris

876b. Sternites II and III for the most part bare. Tergites less extensively armed (072k.jpg; Note Or287b), medially not extending as far forward as the anterior margin of the anterior adhesion marks, leaving a broad and deep antero-median bare area, particularly obvious on tergite VI, the points larger, about 10µm long, and less dense. Anal macrosetae thicker, about 6µm wide.
