698a. Lateral setae of segment VIII fine and short, longest less than 55µm long. Tergite III with the median points about as large and as dense as those around, gradually diminishing in size laterally to the adhesion marks; the small anterior points grouped in horizontal rows spread posteriorly into the point patch half-way to setae D1; posterior transverse band of distinctly enlarged points 2 points deep (050a.jpg). Note Or110.

698b. Lateral setae of segment VIII strong and longer, longest about 90µm long; if shorter, somewhat flattened and frayed apically. Tergite III with the median points distinctly smaller (and less dense at least in parexcellens) than those around, anterior row shagreen very limited, restricted to the margin of the point patch (050b.jpg).
