34a. Thoracic horn narrowing to apex; the plastron plate somewhat triangular, occupying the apical 3rd of the horn. Exuviae larger than, and seta D3 as in Macropelopia nebulosa.

34b. Horn apically truncate or rounded; the plastron plate either circular or transversely rectangular. Exuviae generally smaller than Macropelopia nebulosa. Setae D2-5 of segments III-V short and thin, sometimes branched.
