Antero-median tubercular patch on sternite III merging with the general armament of the sternite by mid-segment, or extended posteriorly beyond mid-segment but the tubercles remaining circular or at most a little transversely oval. Note Te02a.

Telmatogeton japonicus

4b. Opening of thoracic horn lumen beyond half-way (001b.jpg). Antero-median tubercular patch on sternite III extending to the posterior margin of the sternite, by about 1/3rd segment length the tubercles are reduced to narrow transverse ridges, giving a finely striate appearance along the mid-line. Note Te02b.
