Chironomus dissidens

Diagnosis
Exuviae 8.4-10.0mm long (m=9.2mm, n=40) (099-1.jpg).
Cephalothorax: Frontal warts and cephalic tubercles are of similar size in males (099b.jpg), in females the frontal warts are narrower (099c.jpg). Cephalic tubercles 130-255µm long (m=188µm, n=35), 75-215µm wide (m=135µm, n=35). Frontal setae 200-260µm long (m=231µm, n=19). Frontal warts (male) 155-270µm long (m=223µm, n=23), 85-170µm wide (m=125µm, n=23); (female) 35-155µm long (m=114µm, n=17), 60-110µm wide (m=88µm, n=17). Thoracic horn much branched.
Abdomen: Length hook row II 0.48-0.61x width tergite (m=0.55, n=11) (099d.jpg). Conjunctives III/IV, IV/V and V/VI armed with points. Sternite I with a median posterior transverse band of sharp points extended anteriorly on each side; antero-lateral mounds strongly toothed (098h.jpg). Sternite IV posteriorly with a circular or elongate mound on each side bearing a stiff seta; sternites V and VI posteriorly with a pair of smaller hemispherical mounds, each bearing a stiff seta. Comb of segment VIII absent. Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 4,4,4,5.
