Tokunagaia tonollii

Diagnosis (in part after Halvorsen and Saether, 1987a - in italics)
Exuviae 3.0-3.3mm long (n=4).
Colour: Dark exuviae; brown becoming more intense posteriorly along the bases of the posterior teeth, the golden brown teeth conspicuous against the colourless conjunctives.
Cephalothorax: Frontal setae and warts absent. Antennal sheath with weak pearl row distal to pedicel, pearls stronger on inner margin. Ocular field with 1 postorbital. Thoracic horn absent. Median antepronotal setae 1,2: 30-80; 20-85µm long (n=3) ; precorneal setae 1-3: 35-70; 35-100; 45-60µm long (n=3); dorsocentral setae 1-4: 50/55; 17; 30/45; 25/30µm long (n=3). Wing sheaths without pearl row.
Abdomen: Segments II-VIII dorsally nearly covered with small points except for the adhesion marks. Hook rows on tergites continuous; hooks III 29-42, IV 28-38, V 24-33 (n=4). On tergite II small points spread inwards behind the posterior transverse row of strong teeth, scattered points present even medially in some specimens (050d.jpg). Tergite III with points small, longest about 4µm long, hardly longer than broad at base. Posterior teeth III 13-20, IV 18-23µm long (n=4). Pedes spurii A and B absent. Longest lateral seta VIII 28, 38µm long (n=2).
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.6-1.9 (n=3). Anal lobes without fringe. Anal macrosetae 0.67-0.93x length of the anal lobe (n=3). Male genital sheaths not reaching half-way along the anal macrosetae.

Note: Extremely like Tokunagaia scutellata (Brundin) and possibly not distinguishable from it.
