Diagnosis
Exuviae 2.9-4.3mm long (m=3.6mm, n=13).
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn small-toothed; horn 255-345µm long (m=301µm, n=14); ThR 4.8-5.7 (n=6).
Abdomen: Tergites III-VIII with restricted shagreen, at least on VII and VIII, with conspicuous large points medially and/or posteriorly. Point patches more or less circular, present on tergites IV-VI; on tergite IV distinctly smaller than that on VI; additional armament of tergites IV-VI usually weak and sparse, apparently absent under low power (045e.jpg). Points of point patches small, the longest less than 30µm long, usually shorter than the longest tooth of the posterior transverse rows. Pedes spurii B on segment II in the form of rounded humps or absent. Segments III-V with 3 lateral setae, 2 close together anteriorly, the other posterior. Lateral taeniae of segment VII 4, VIII 5/4, the fifth as long as the fourth (occasionally only four, in which case it is missing altogether, not displaced inwards as a seta.).
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.5-1.7 (n=6). Anal lobes not drawn out posteriorly into a tooth or spur. Fringe of anal lobe with 20-37 taeniae (m=28, n=25). The three anal macrosetae situated apically on the anal lobes.

Distribution
Palaearctic species: widespread in Europe, circum-Mediterranean.
