Psectrocladius fennicus

Author: Storå, 1939

Diagnosis
Exuviae 5.2-6.6mm long (m=5.8mm, n=12).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles large and curved; frontal setae present. Thoracic horn 335-515µm long (m=465µm, n=11), small-toothed, swollen apically (but this may be masked by folding) (049g.jpg); ThR 3.4-7.5 (m=5.5, n=8). Anterior dorsocentral seta fine, the remaining three sturdy, as in psilopterus (048h.jpg).
Abdomen: Tergites III-VIII with restricted shagreen, at least on VII and VIII. Median point patches present on tergites IV-VI (rarely an indication of one of the patches on III); patches double, at least on tergites IV and V, if joined, only by a few scattered points. Points of point patches large, the longest greater than 35µm long, usually obviously exceeding the length of the longest tooth of the posterior transverse rows. Three or four lateral setae on segments II-V, not taeniate; four lateral taeniae or setae present on segment VI, if (rarely) all are reduced to setae, the most posterior is the most conspicuous; at least one lateral seta on segment VII, and all those on segment VIII taeniate.
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.7-2.3 (m=1.8, n=15). Anal lobes rounded apically, without teeth. Fringe of anal lobe with 30-40 taeniae (m=35, n=17). 3 apical setae on anal lobes (very rarely 4). The three anal macrosetae situated apically on the anal lobes.
