Diagnosis
Exuviae 8.1-10.0mm long (m=8.9mm, n=19) (009-2.jpg).
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn 590-770µm long (m=691µm, n=20), more or less truncate apically; the plastron plate occupying the whole apex and in contact with the atrium for its whole width, plate without rim; ThR 2.0-3.4 (m=2.75, n=16) (009e.jpg). Thorax with well-spaced, regular, transverse grooves from suture. No thorax comb.
Abdomen: Mark on segment I brown or blackish, usually isodiametric, rounded anteriorly, emarginate posteriorly, but occasionally much as in Macropelopia notata. Conjunctives II/III-VI/VII shagreened. Seta D2 of segment IV posterior to the spinous seta D1. Setae D2 and D3 of segments III-V taeniate and longer than the segment, hooked apically, sometimes angularly bent back on themselves about half-way along their length (010h.jpg). Lateral taeniae of segments VII and VIII: 5, 5(4). Anterior lateral taenia of segment VII at 0.40-0.57 of length segment VII (m=0.50, n=21), the remaining taeniae spaced evenly in the posterior one third of the segment (009-2.jpg). Anterior lateral taenia of segment VIII at 0.47-0.57 of length segment VIII (n=10).
Anal segment: Anal lobes fringed externally only with hair-like teeth (but may be toothed internally) (009f.jpg). Anal lobe ratio 2.4-2.8 (m=2.5, n=21).
