Diagnosis (Material in coll. ZSM)
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn about 1.4mm long. Thoracic horn very large, unbranched, swollen strongly near base and tapered to the blunt tip (but easily broken off) (034b.jpg).
Abdomen: Segment II with well-developed pedes spurii B covered with spines (034c.jpg). At least segment VIII without a lateral hair fringe.
Anal segment: Anal lobes densely fringed, without macrosetae, but with two dorsal setae, the anterior seta in the anterior quarter of the lobe well-removed from the base of the fringe, the posterior one close to the fringe near the apex of the lobe (034d.jpg).

Ecological notes
Larvae mainly found in oligitrophic lakes or sandy sediments of slowflowing streams and weirs (Janecek, 1999a).
