Form described by Langton, 1991
Diagnosis
Exuviae 5.6-6.2mm long (n=4).
Colour: Exuviae usually very dark; conjunctives III/IV-VIII/IX blotched with small dark brown spots on transparent cuticle.
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn elongate, 413-450µm long, more extensively armed with points; ThR 5.7-7.2 (n=3). Four dorsocentral setae, the first, third and fourth thick, the second conspicuously thinner.
Abdomen: Hook row II a discrete pad or band of hooks, less than 0.34x width of segment II, usually of three or more transverse rows of hooks. Tergites less extensively armed (e.g. on III the median point patch laterally hardly overrunning the anterior adhesion marks, but spreading past the anterior edge of the adhesion marks into the antero-lateral corners), medially not extending as far forward as the anterior margin of the anterior adhesion marks, leaving a broad and deep antero-median bare area, particularly obvious on tergite VI, the points larger, about 10µm long, and less dense. Median point patches of tergites III-V completely fused to the posterior band to form a single trapezoidal patch, the points small and of similar size and form. Posterior transverse point band on tergite III not extending further laterally than the apical band; points of the median, posterior and apical bands of similar size (072k.jpg). No granulation present on tergites and sternites. Sternites II and III for the most part bare. Pedes spurii B on segment II conspicuous. Forked or branched setae rare and usually confined to the apical sternites.
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.4-1.8 (n=4). Anal lobes without fringe; anal macrosetae about 6µm wide, usually hooked apically, length 0.45-0.53x lobe length (n=4).
