Diagnosis
Saether, 1990a, describes a mature male pupa from Norway and discusses a male pupa from Italy which might be a hybrid with L. pumilio.
Exuviae about 3.0mm long.
Cephalothorax: Frontal setae on frontal apodeme. Ocular field with 1 vertical and 1-2 postorbitals. Thoracic horn absent; 2 median and 1 lateral, fine antepronotals. Precorneal tubercle present, 3 fine and short precorneals; 4 dorsocentrals, setal marks of setae 2 and 3 separated by 2-13µm, distance between setae 3 and 4 15-49µm; thorax and wing sheaths smooth.
Abdomen: Tergite I without shagreen; II-VIII with posterior transverse rows of translucent or slightly darkened elongate spines; shagreen coarse and extensive on tergites II-VIII and anterior on IX. Sternite I without shagreen; relatively distinct shagreen medially and posterior on sternites II-VIII; Pedes spurii A and B absent. Segment VIII with 5 lateral setae, setae1-5: 128, 86, 108, 79, 113µm long; setae 1 and 3 strongest, seta 4 weakest:
Anal segment: Segment IX dorsally and ventrally without shagreen. Anal lobe somewhat rectangular, 240µm long; 3 anal macrosetae 144µm long (0.59x lobe length), apically curved. In male genital sheaths overreaching by 32µm.
