Form described by Langton, 1991
Diagnosis
Exuviae 2.4-3.1mm long (n=4).
Note: These four specimens mounted together under one coverslip in the Thienemann collection (ZSM) are all laterally mounted. The long anal point and small size suggest Chaetocladius minutissimus Goetghebuer.
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn 100-138µm long, small-toothed, pointed at apex; ThR 5-9.2 (n=3). Precorneal setae 1-3: 60; 60; ?µm long (n=1).
Abdomen: Tergite I armed at least antero-laterally. Tergites II-VIII posteriorly with a weak to well-developed narrow transverse band of teeth, the remainder of the tergites covered with small points. Points of apical bands smaller than those in mid-tergite on segments III-VI. The first three lateral setae of segments II-V more similar; although the first and third are stiff they are not much wider than the second and about as long. Lateral setae 1-4 of segment IV: 75-100; 80-110; 95-105; 55-60µm long; 1-3 of similar diameter, 4 much narrower; length longest seta 0.38-0.44x length IV (n=4) (061k.jpg).
Anal segment: Anal lobes rounded laterally, fringe absent; the apical macrosetae short and strong, thorn- or spine-like, 23-48µm long (n=4) (three specimens with only two setae on each anal lobe); length 3-9.2x width (n=4). One seta is situated in the proximal half of the lobe, the other two in the distal half.
