Metriocnemus corticalis

Diagnosis (after Saether, 1989a: p. 406, fig. 2 B, F) (n=5, unless stated otherwise).
Exuviae 3.85-4.52mm long (m=4.13mm)
Cephalothorax: All setae 11-30µm long. Thorax rugulose with polygonal markings. Distance between dorsocentral setae 1 and 2: 38-68µm (n=3); between setae 3 and 4: 8-26µm (m=17µm).
Abdomen: Tergite I with extensive shagreen of blunt rounded points strongest medially, otherwise weak; II with more extensive shagreen; III-VIII as on II, but with additional longer, anterior, pointed points. Sternite I with few and weak anterior points; II-III with relatively strong median points; IV-VIII with extensive, but weaker shagreen. Pedes spurii A present as complete bands on sternites II-VI, weak medially.
Anal segment: Tergite IX with coarse shagreen; sternite IX bare. Anal lobe 263-345µm long (m=315µm); 3 macrosetae 84-105µm long (m=94µm), 0.25-0.36x as long as anal lobe (m= 0.30). Genital sheaths in male overreaching lobe by 84µm; in female ending 38-53µm short (m=45µm, n=4).
