Diagnosis
No satisfactory distinction between the pupal exuviae of Cricotopus polaris (Kieffer) and C. tibialis has been found. Material described as belonging to either of these species in the 1991 Key has now been combined under the new form: Cricotopus pe13.

Species shall key out at Page 938: Orthocladiinae 349 Cricotopus of the Text Key, under Cricotopus pe13.
Distribution
Holarctic species: widespread in Europe.
