Diagnosis (n=2, and in part after Contreras-Lichtenberg, 1986a - in italics)
Exuviae 5.1, 5.3mm long.
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles 50, 80µm long (± 27.4µm long, wide, conical); frontal setae 90µm long (105j.jpg). Second dorsocentral seta closer to the third than to the first.
Abdomen: Hook row II 0.43x width tergite; hooks 63, 66 (± 40 hooks). Median point patch of tergites II-VI highly marmorate, partially fused to the posterior transverse band; the points of the posterior half of the median patch considerably larger than those of the anterior half, forming an obvious transverse band, these points largest medially; on III these points are the same size as, on IV and V larger than, those of the posterior transverse band; on VI the posterior band is reduced to between setae D5 and is composed of greatly enlarged points, as large as those of the median patch (105i.jpg). Conjunctives III/IV-V/VI armed with small spinules (< 7µm). Comb of segment VIII of 1/2 small teeth, 15, 38µm long. Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 4,4,4,5.
Anal segment: Fringe of anal lobe with 68-76 taeniae.

Afrotropical species; circum-Mediterranean.
