Tanytarsus pe12

Form described by Langton, 1991

Diagnosis
Exuviae 3.3-5.5mm long (m=4.3mm, n=17).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles very weak. Frontal setae 82-130µm long (n=5). Base of antennal sheath with a large, acutely conical projection, which is usually very obvious on one or both sides of an exuvial mount. Thoracic horn spinulate at least at tip; horn 230-330µm long (m=276µm, n=15); ThR 11.9-20.6(m=16.5, n=12). Posterior thoracic mound moderate. Wing sheaths rounded apically, pearl row absent.
Abdomen: Length hook row II 0.27x width tergite (n=1); hooks 69-72 (n=3). Spine bands of tergite III are situated further back on the tergite and overlap setae D5 and only weakly curved outwards. Tergites IV and V with the armament arranged in longitudinal bands. Armament of tergite IV with equally long spines in the posterior half as in the anterior half. Longest spine IV : III 0.28-0.54 (n=6) (145j.jpg). Armament tergite IV strong, 115-190µm long (m=163µm, n=16). ArR III-VI 0.72-1.23 : 1.0 : 0.44-0.56 : 0.13-0.50 (n=17). Postero-lateral comb of segment VIII 27-55µm wide (m=39.6µm, n=20); with 5-8 marginal teeth (m=6.3, n=18). Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 0,0,1/2,5.
Anal segment: Anal lobe ratio 1.15-1.38 (n=3). Fringe of anal lobe with 31-41 fine and closely set taeniae (m=34.3, n=20), forming a complete series.

Note: Part of the Tanytarsus lestagei aggregate, possibly the pupa of Tanytarsus lestagei Goetghebuer.
