Paratanytarsus brevicalcar

Author: (Kieffer, 1909)

Diagnosis
Exuviae 3.6-3.8mm long.
Cephalothorax: Thoracic horn 225µm long; ThR 11.3.
Abdomen: Comb of segment VIII 25-30µm wide; with 8 marginal teeth.
Anal segment: Fringe of anal lobe with 28-30 taeniae.
Note: The pupa of brevicalcar Kieffer as fragmentarily described by Bause, 1913 and redescribed by Krüger in Thienemann, 1951 differs from the pupa of Paratanytarsus intricatus only in being larger. Details from Krüger's account are given here. It is unlikely that these are separate species, in the which case, brevicalcar is the older name.
