Polypedilum apfelbecki

Diagnosis (n=1, leg. J. Moubayed.)
Exuviae 5.3mm long.
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles weak, rounded. Frontal setae 110µm long. Precorneal setae short and thin, the longer of the two 60µm long. Thoracic horn 8-branched. Thorax with conspicuously large granules near suture (112b.jpg).
Abdomen: Length hook row II 0.51x width tergite; hooks 69. Tergites with the median patches reduced, highly marmorate. Armament of tergites II-V or III-V discontinuous: at least the anterior transverse point band separate from the postero-median patch, which is narrowed anteriorly to a median point (occasionally here narrowly joined to the anterior band). Comb of segment VIII composed of more widely separated teeth spreading laterally forwards from the apico-lateral corner. Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 3,3,4,4.
Anal segment: Anal lobes with a dorsal seta; each lobe with 25 fringe taeniae.
