Limnophyes madeirae

Diagnosis (A pupa, similar to Limnophyes edwardsi and L. carolinensis, was described as Limnophyes sp. A by Saether, 1990a and may belong to this species. Description after Saether's key.)
Exuviae about 2.2-3.3mm long.
Cephalothorax: Setal marks of dorsocentral setae 2 and 3 separated by 2-13µm; distance between dorsocentral setae 3 and 4 15-49µm.
Abdomen: Tergite I bare. Sternites without point patches; II-III usually with a few, weak median points. Segment VIII with 5 lateral setae; fourth seta strong, about as strong as setae 2 and 3, 75-140µm long; setae 2-4 clearly weaker than setae 1 and 5.
Anal segment: Anal lobe 150-245µm long. Anal macrosetae 140-220µm long.
