Cricotopus pilidorsum

Diagnosis (Material in coll. ZSM) (after Hirvenoja, 1973a - in italics)
Exuviae 5.0-5.8mm long.
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles absent, frontal setae 50-90µm long, on praefrons posterior to mid-antennal bases. Thoracic horn 15-25µm wide (m=18µm, n=15), 80-207µm long (m=157µm, n=15), colourless and almost without neck, distally with some small spines. Thorax dorsally smooth (or weakly wrinkled or with granulate patches).
Abdomen: Hook row II with 70-103 hooks (m=84.1, n=8) in 2-3 rows. Tergite armament II-VI fused, on VI only narrowly so. Pedes spurii B absent. Dorsal setae I-VIII: 4-5,4-5,4-5,5,5,5,5,2; Lateral setae I-VIII1,3,3,3,3,3,3,4; Ventral setae I-VIII: 1,3-4,3-4,4,4,4,4,1; lateral seta 4 on VIII stronger than the other lateral setae.
Anal segment: All three anal macrosetae about half the length of the anal segment.
Colour: Colouration of abdominal tergites II-VI usually darker than remainder of body.
