Chironomini gen.? sp.? Pe 2
Diagnosis
Exuviae 6.1-7.0mm long (m=6.5mm, n=9) (092-2.jpg).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles broad conical, curved, 67-118µm long (n=5); frontal setae preapical, 15-25µm long (n=4) (092f.jpg). Thoracic horn much branched.
Abdomen: Hook row II medially broken; length row 0.23 (0.19 gap) 0.25 of width tergite (n=1); 28-45 hooks in each half row (n=8) (092g.jpg). Armament of tergites II-VI in the form of an undivided, usually extensive patch of strong points, the points in each segment increasing in size posteriorly. The point patches increase in extent from tergite II to V, but on VI the patch is more or less reduced. Pedes spurii B of segment II absent. Conjunctives without lateral setae. Comb of segment VIII of 1-4 spines, basally fused (as in Paracladopelma nigritulum), set on, and projecting past, apico-lateral corner (092h.jpg). Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 4,4,4,5.
Anal segment: Fringe of anal lobe with 51-77 taeniae (n=9) (092i.jpg).
Note: This form from Lappland resembles a Dicrotendipes but interrupted hook row II and lack of pedes spurii B suggest not; it could be a Paracladopelma.

Chironomini gen.? sp.? Pe 3
Diagnosis (n=1, from Tunisia)
Exuviae 4.5mm long (115-1.jpg).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles bulbous mounds; frontal setae 50µm long (115b.jpg). Thorax with conspicuously large granules near suture (112b.jpg).
Abdomen: Length hook row II 0.63x width tergite; of 61 strong hooks. Tergites II-VII with anterior, median and posterior point patches/bands fused to cover the tergite with even-sized points (115c.jpg) (smaller and less extensive on VII); tergite VIII with a median patch of small points; apical bands present on III/IV-V/VI, also in contact and of similar points, thus indistinct. Pedes spurii B of segment II absent. Vortex absent. Comb of segment VIII a dark brown spur, with the sharp apical tooth extending about one third the length of the anal lobes posteriorly (115d.jpg). Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 3,4,4,3.
Anal segment: Anal lobes fringed for apical two-thirds, with 25/26 taeniae (115d.jpg).
Distribution: Southwest-Palaearctic endemic (Azzouzi et al., 1992a).

Chironomini gen.? sp.? Pe 4
Diagnosis (n=1)
Exuviae 4.6mm long (115-2.jpg).
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles shallow mounds; frontal setae 35µm long. Thoracic horn of few branches (115f.jpg). Thorax with conspicuously large granules near suture (112b.jpg).
Abdomen: Hook row II is represented by a long band of reduced hooks similar to those of the apical bands of segments III and IV. Tergites II-V with a distinct anterior transverse band of strong points contiguous across its breadth with the small points of the median patch plus posterior band, which cover the tergite except for a narrow point-free band posteriorly (115g.jpg); tergites VI and VII have a similar patch but the anterior transverse band is not differentiated from the points of the remainder of the armament which are smaller in size and less extensive than on preceding segments; tergite VIII has a median patch of strong points. Vortex absent. Comb of segment VIII a dark brown, apically rounded spur, fringed with 8 short teeth (115h.jpg). Lateral setae of segments V-VIII: 3,3,3,3, setae becoming somewhat taeniate on VII and VIII.
Anal segment: Anal lobes fringed for posterior half only, with 29/31 taeniae.
Distribution: Form from a Spanish stream.

Diagnosis (n=1, leg. X.-F. Garcia, R. Munts.)
Exuviae 5.0mm long.
Cephalothorax: Cephalic tubercles large, domed; frontal setae absent? Thoracic horn many branched, but tracheolar patch at base very small, 20x16µm.
Abdomen: Length hook row II 0.13 (0.08 gap) 0.13 of width tergite; hooks 21-17. Armament of tergites II-VI a median longitudinal band, on II restricted to the posterior half, on III extended anteriad as far as setae D1, on IV-VI occupying much of the length of the tergite (149b.jpg). Vortex present. Comb of segment VIII absent. Lateral taeniae of segments V-VIII: 4,4,4,4.
Anal segment: Anal lobes parallel-sided. Anal lobe with 70/72 fringe taeniae.
