Diagnosis (after Hirvenoja, 1973a - in italics)
Exuviae 4.8-5.2mm long.
Cephalothorax: Thorax smooth, with some slight wrinkling or granular patches. Cephalic tubercles absent, frontal setae on frontal apotome. Thoracic horn 16-28µm wide (m=20µm, n=14), 83-120µm long (m=100µm, n=14), distally with some small spines.
Abdomen: Hook row II with 71-109 hooks (m=89.0, n=8) in 2-3 rows. Anterior and posterior transverse bands more or less separate on tergite III, on IV-VI often clearly fused. Pedes spurii B II weak. Dorsal setae I-VIII: 4,4,4,5,5,5,5,2; Lateral setae I-VIII: 1,3,3,3,3,3,3,4; Ventral setae I-VIII: 1,3,3-4,3-4,3-4,3-4,3-4,0-1; lateral seta 4 on VIII slightly stronger than the other lateral setae.
Anal segment: Anal macrosetae about half the length or more of the anal segment.
