Author: Rossaro, 1990
Diagnosis (after Rossaro, 1990a)
Abdomen: Spines on conjunctives III/IV, IV/V and V/VI well developed (more so than in Paratrichocladius osellai), nearly as thick as the hooks on the posterior margin of tergite II. Conjunctival spines of both species fall within the range of the very variably Paratrichocladius skirwithensis.
Note: The senior author is preparing a paper on the status of this species.
Distribution
Italy.
(For more information see module IdentifyIt – file: Orthocladiinae).
Ecological notes
Possibly more stenothermal than Paratrichocladius skirwithensis, known from Italian Alps only, during spring season (march-june) in glacier-fed streams.
